What Is Automated
Our systems continuously monitor trusted local sources — television and newspaper feeds, city governments, school districts, and official channels — and draft concise summaries of their reporting. Software also assembles our events calendars, civic-data directories (schools, hospitals, health centers), and daily briefings from public records and official feeds.
What People Do
People choose the sources each publication monitors, set the editorial rules the systems follow, review output, and correct the record when we get something wrong. Our editorial desk is based in Texas. We are a technology-forward publisher, not a traditional newsroom, and we do not claim otherwise.
What We Never Do
- We do not invent bylines, quotes, facts, or sources.
- We do not claim original reporting. Our articles summarize the work of the outlets we credit, and link to the original story.
- We do not aggregate obituaries. Families deserve the original notice.
Attribution
Every article names where its reporting comes from, and links to the original report whenever a source link exists. Bylines credit the source outlet or the journalist named in the source's own feed — archival items whose sources could not be verified were removed in a July 2026 provenance review, recorded in our public corrections logs.
Mistakes — and What We Fixed
We have made real mistakes. Earlier iterations of some sites used pen-name-style bylines, and one carried an erroneous decades-old founding-year claim from its original 2024 build. Both practices ended, the claims were corrected, and every publication now maintains a public corrections log at /corrections, with a policy of acknowledging reported errors promptly. How We Make Money
To date, Nexcom has been self-funded by its founders; Nexcom is self-funded by its founders; we do not currently solicit or accept reader donations.
